My wife and I are first generation Canadians born in the USA. Our Certificates of citizenship should arrive soon. My employer has postions open in Toronto . My question is should we apply for inland Application or Outland ?
My daughter is 13 and I want to settle in Toronto asap. I am in the airline Business so flying to Toronto for sin/ passport is not a problem for my wife and I
Were you Canadian when your daughter was born?
My wife and I have Canadian Fathers and American Mothers. We both were born in California. Our parents did not file a RBA after we were born and we were not aware we had until 2004 to do it. Bill C37 has restored our citizenship retroactive to our birth. If we had filed RBA, our daughter would be a 2nd generation Canadian born abroad. The provision in bill c37 states we cannot pass our citizenship to our daughter as we were not Canadians prior to 17 April 2009. We have to sponsor her. So, I am wondering if it is better to do so in Canada, since we can settle in and then file for her PR. Eventaull we will file for Canadian Citizenship for her.
