We received your application for permanent residence on October 30, 2007.

We started processing your application on November 29, 2007.

We transferred your application to the local CIC office on April 9, 2008. The local CIC office may contact you.for an interview or to seek additional information or clarification. once processing is complete, that office will notify you by mail of their decision (BUT THE LOCAL CIC OFFICE DID NOT CONTACT ME) AND DID ANY BODY KNOW WHY THEY DIDNT CONTACT ME.BUT THIS IS THE LATTER I GOT FROM THEM............

We returned your application to the Case Processing Centre Vegreville on April 23, 2008. The Case Processing Centre will continue to process your application within the normal service standards.
Hi Timmy,
What local office was your application transfered to?
This is my current time line:
Application recieved Dec 31st
Processing began Feb. 11th
ON May 29th, application was tranfered to local CIC office, and they may contact me.

My local CIC office is Etobicoke. i dont know why the applicaiton was transfered because no further infomation has been requested from me since the application began.

What should i expect and have you heard anything from them? Do you know why your case was transfered?
Apparently, when CPC-Vegreville has questions about an application, they send it to the local office so that the local office can do whatever is necessary to resolve the question(s). Some local offices have really long backlogs (like Etobicoke) and getting your file sent there can mean it sits for a long time before they even review what the file was sent to them for in the first place. From what I've read here and on other forums, normally once a file goes to a local office, the local office seems to keep it and finalize it - so I'm not sure why yours was sent back to CPC-V for further processing . . . but regardless, you're one of the lucky ones because it seems your local office looked at your file right away, resolved whatever issue CPC-V had without having to contact you, and sent it back to them. Maybe CPC-V thought something was irregular, and the local office said, "Nope, it's fine - get back to finishing this!" Who knows?? But anyway, this is relatively good news, I think.

If you're really curious (as I would be) you can order your FOSS notes - there might be some indication in them as to why the file was transferred, what happened, and where it is now in the processing.
Does anyone know what the current processing time is for BC or windsor? We have family there and we can relocate untill everything is complete
12 months is a bit too much for us to wait
You can contact the Call Centre and ask - they seem to be able to tell people what the timelines are for the local offices.
hey Timmy, so did you find out why they transferred it?
and marriedstudents you too? any clue from FOSS that why they transferred it?
