Well they turned him away from the border today. :( He's going to try again tommorow with more evidence of his finances. Please pm me if you want to talk. I'm too afraid to post any details here :(

Sorry about that it happened to my husband also but he finally got in within a few weeks after.
Why did they turn him away the main reason for the border to turn someone away is because they believe they aren't going to go back.

My daughter's boyfriend was turned away from the border every day for almost a week back in 2008. They didn't believe he had enough ties to the U.S. They got a hotel room and just kept going back every day with the information asked for. Eventually, they let him through with a less than six month visitor record. They decided to get married and extended the VR from within Canada while they get their PR paperwork in order. He received a one year extension.
Think positive. Just keep giving them what they ask for and being honest. I hope it turns out for you.
