My name's Jess, and I'm switching to Canada.
I have a bachelor's degree in radiologic science and work as a radiographer, and my fiance is studying for an associate's degree in networking technology/application development. We're hoping to move to the Vancouver area when he completes his course.
We qualify already under the Skilled Migration scheme, but my fiance would be able to get a work permit more easily through the IT Professional thing where he doesn't need the LMO. We just need to save up the money to apply...do they want you to pay up front when you send in the application?
I had several job interviews in Vancouver last fall, but they all came to nothing, unfortunately. I'm hoping to leave the medical field entirely, as getting my x-ray certification is ridiculously expensive in Canada, and find work in the IT field as well.
