Hello All,

I sponsored my wife(Outland applicant) in December 2007, it took almost one a half year for her to get the visa stamped(due to 'background checks' consudcted in her case). During that time she got pregnant, prematurely gave birth to our baby daughter in Pakistan in Sept-2009, Wife got her passport back in first week of october 2009 with visa stamped. We informed the Canadian embassy in Pakistan about the new development. They asked my wife to submit back her passport and apply for the daughter. I applied for my daughter from Canada in the last week of December 2009 as an ADD-ON application. I have not received any sort acknowledgement on my mailing address as yet, I heard that usually CPC-M process the 'ADD-ON' applicaitons swiftly(I wrote on the envelope 'ADD-ON'). I have also contacted the canadian embassy in islamabad asking them if they have received anything from canada, still waiting for their response.

Is there anyway to contact CPC-M to know the status of the applicaiton.

Thanks for your time in advance.

Regards
I haven't read much here about situations such as yours - with a child born while an application is in process and having to be added to the ap before the primary applicant can land, so it's very difficult to say for sure what type of timeline you can expect. I don't even have info on whether or not CPC-M will pull an "add-on" ap out of the normal processing que (of about a month) and expedite it to the overseas visa office. I don't even know if it's customary for them to send you a letter confirming your eligibility to sponsor and transfer to Islamabad, like you got with the initial spousal ap. Is there any indication at all in your eCAS status about you having added a family member to the existing ap? Typically, other than what you can see on eCAS, you don't hear of people getting status updates through CPC-M . . . all of the "communication" about processing comes once the ap gets to the overseas office.

As far as Islamabad, their posted timeline for processing dependent child aps is 8-19 months but, again, this isn't actually a dependent child application - it's an add-on to a finished spousal ap. At the very least, though, I would suspect your wife is going to hear from them first about the requirement to submit proof of a medical exam for your baby. So, until she receives that, I would have to assume Islamabad hasn't received the ap . . . because, other than the medical, there really isn't anything to process for the baby except the legalities (birth certificate, etc.). I'd expect the very first correspondence she'll get from them is the request for proof of medical - then at least you'll know it's back in process.
Before you get any further into the process, I just want to confirm that you are a PR yourself, and not actually a Canadian Citizen? If you are a Canadian Citizen and you were at the time of the birth of your child, your child would not need to be added to your wife's application, but you would need to apply for a citizenship certificate for the baby instead.
