Haven't seen many timelines for Oz to Canada cases, so here's my incredibly short one:
February 26, 2008: mailed sponsorship application to Mississauga (we paid the fees and sent all of our police clearances and medicals upfront)
March 20: I was approved as a sponsor
April 24: received AOR from Canadian Consulate in Sydney
May 2: RCMP name check initiated (must have come back clear because we were never asked for fingerprints)
June 19: received a letter requesting additional police certificates. We had already sent them all, so I phoned them the following day and it turned out that they had mislaid some of our certificates. They were located, recorded, and we were told to disregard the letter. They then requested that my husband send in his passport for finalization (this was all done OVER THE PHONE).
We're currently waiting for his passport to come back. All in all, it took about 4 months, including the sponsorship approval time. Pretty quick!
