Ok here's the deal. My son from a previous relationship is 8 years old. I have had him with me since I split with his father when he was 18 months old. He used to visit with his father until July 15th 2008 when the Ex stopped contacting me. We were never married and according to Michigan law the mother has custody of the children in such a situation unless otherwise determined by the courts at a later date. I never went to the courts, I never pursued child support beyond what we verbally agreed on. I have something from the State called an Affadavit of Parentage which states as much. I did have a letter from Killian's Dad giving him permission to immigrate but my husband LOST IT! I cannot get my ex to respond to any request for a new letter. Is the affadavit going to be sufficient. Please any information would be helpful.
