Hi Everyone:
There is an American Chris Del Bosco REPRESENTING CANADA in the Olympics and I would like to know how he was not only allowed in Canada but allowed to REPRESENT US.
He has been arrested and convicted of 3 DUI'S AND POSSESSION OF POT in the U.S. 3 years ago. Which is classed as a felony here.
It just ticks me off that all of us on here just want to be with our spouses and are slowly losing our minds waiting for someone sitting at a desk to OK our applications that we spent many hours filling out and we are willing to jump through any hoops that are thrown at us.
This to me is a DOUBLE STANDARD which I have always fought in the workplace and absolutely hate it.
Sad to me.

He's a Canadian citizen and therefore has a constitutional right to enter and remain in Canada.
Yup, in fact I believe he was born in Canada and holds the U.S. passport as his dual citizenship.
He may very well be a Canadian citizen.
However that is not what they are saying. The information we are getting is that his father is a Canadian citizen and he was born and raised in the United States and still lives in the United States and he was kicked off the American Ski Team for his actions.
When he wasn't allowed to ski with the U.S. He is now conveniently a Canadian citizen.
Anyway we could debate this forever I just feel that there are many people on here held up with immigration for things alot less than 3 DUI'S as a matter of fact likely wouldn't get into Canada for 10 years or more.

He was born in the US, but he has always had a Canadian passport as his father is Canadian born. So he's a Canadian-US dual citizen and has been since he was born.
I'm sorry your waiting time is rough, but you cannot start lashing out at Canadian citizens with records. If you are a citizen of a country, they have to keep you, no matter what you do. It's not a double standard at all, one's got nothing to do with the other.
If you want to rail against the Canadian ski team for allowing a member who has a record, that's another issue. CIC would never have had anything to do with Del Bosco because he's ALWAYS been a Canadian citizen.

He was
born a Canadian citizen. He's no less Canadian than you are.
Hi
After further investigation I did find out that he is a Canadian citizen so I do apologize but the information that was first given about him was not complete, I don't know how long he has been here. I know he wasn't born here or raised here and was kicked off the U.S. team because of his actions.
I do still feel that the Olympic committee should screen their athletes further. There are many job positions that you can't get if you have a record of any kind.
So the Olympic committee need to raise their standards. He didn't commit the crimes in Canada so I guess he's clear.
Anyway sorry for my rant.
