CIC Wrote:We sent you a letter on October 23, 2008 to 12345 Outtamy Way, Vancouver BC, A1B2C3 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, please contact us.

So, can anyone tell me what that letter typically says? I have called the call center and they told me hubby has been approved which is good but I'm curious.

As well does anyone have experience with the Vancouver office? Did you have to wait a full 3 months like I have been told by the call center?

Any insight into this and the landing interview would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
I have no idea, but I just wanted to say that I SINCERELY hope this is finally your happy ending.

The patience you have shown is unimaginable to me. Congratulations to you and your family!
Wow - it's about time!
You folks have been through so much.
I know you are disenchanted with the immigration process, and I don't blame you by any stretch, I'm really glad that, after landing you are DONE with CIC...until citizenship time....

Seriously, congratulations to your whole family Grouphug

Maybe your MP can speed things up & you folks can go visit for the holidays.
Thanks for the kind words all.

Disenchanted .... heh.... good word, amoung numerous others LOL! Though I do pray that NOBODY who has such an easy cut and dry case, EVER has to go through what I have or Matt or the rest of us outliers......

The support I have found here has been invaluable..... now to google out some DM letters so that I have a grasp of what to expect, cause let's fact it, CIC has been pretty unpredictable for us, and I don't want to sit here expect roses and end up getting only the thorns know what I mean?
My understanding is that you'll receive a letter from Vancouver local office scheduling his landing interview. They'll tell you to bring his passport and probably photos for his PR card, and I think that's about it. He'll go to the landing interview, they'll ask him a couple of questions (has he committed a crime, has there been a change in family composition, does he have any undeclared dependents, etc.), have him sign a couple of forms and (if they have any manners at all) congratulate him (certainly deserved) and welcome him to Canada.

I sincerely hope, with all my heart, that the landing is scheduled very soon - you guys deserve to be able to get on with life!! Congratulations! Magic
hi yppgina, my file was transferred to the local office too, the montreal one, when i called they said the current waiting time is 5 months before i get a landing interview, but the letter came a week after, in your case by 3 months i think they mean after being approved by the local office there is a waiting time of three months, but usually it does not take that long, any day u might get it.

Congrats

Thats pretty much how mine went, very easy process.

But you may not get the welcome from the IO. Closest mine did was saying how she was happy to see someone who spoke English.
OKay so now I'm confused LOL.....

When ECAS says "we sent you a letter" does that letter include hubby's landing interview date and time?
I would think so, but don't quote me on it :)
