Hi,

I am filling out the Imm 0008 and Q10 previous marriages I just received my certified copies of my divorce decree and noticed on that form back in 1993 I wrote the wrong wedding date....

I got married on St. Patick's day 3/17/1990 and I wrote on the Certificate of Dissolution that my marriage date was 3/21/1990 for some strange reason. So now what do I put on my application?

Thanks!!
Shawn
I'd say put what's on the legal paperwork. You won't have to produce a copy of your original marriage certificate, so there won't be anything to say you actually got married on 3/17 as opposed to 3/21 . . . so I'd say it's safe to put 3/21 as the marriage date, as that's what's on the Dissolution.
I'd put the correct date and on a supplemental page clarify the error in the certificate of divorce.

But either way is fine. It just always seems best to be as honest as you can remember and if there is a discrepancy in paperwork to explain the discrepancy.

All that really matters is that the relationship was in fact and in law terminated.
Thank you both so much!!! :)

I realized too the only thing they really care about is that the marriage legally ended so that my current marriage is valid. ;)

Thanks again!!! ;) Appreciate you both so much!!! :)
