HI,
I know this may be a silly question but the instructions say to use block letters on the forms but I am finding when I use block letter (caps) I don't have room for answers. is it ok to use lower case?
I assumed block letters meant all caps but do they just mean printing in case you are filling them out by pen?
thanks!! :)
Yes, printing in case you're filling out in pen.
Thank you!!!!
I am finding this whole process kind of funny because it's like the more important something is the more brainless I become!!! :) LOL Like I am overthinking everything. ;)
My motto is usually "Keep it simple" so I need to take my own advice but after reading this forum over the last 1 1/2 years off and on I have grown to appreciate the need for PERFECTION!!! :) LOL
This is a really great site and I appreciate it so much!!! :)
Thanks again!!!
I keep getting told that I'm over thinking the process. I think that's because they don't know as much about it as I do though. I'm a pretty "keep it simple" person too, but when it come to this, I feel like you can't afford not to think deeply about EVERYTHING! One mistake can delay or hurt you application. Yes, I wondered the same thing about the "block letter" instructions. I wondered if I didn't print exactly the way they wanted me to then they would just chuck the app in the garbage or something.
Also what about the instruction to wright "NOT APPLICABLE" in EVERY space that isn't applicable? I am wondering if this means that, like, on the form for additional family members, there are 3 columns available to add 3 family members... do I just write "NOT APPLICABLE" at the top of each one since I have no children or other immediate family for this purpose? Or do I write "NOT APPLICABLE" in every single block on that sheet? Thats A LOT of "NOT APPLICABLE"s, lol. Would they think that I was being a smart ass if I DID do that causing them to have contemp for me? or perhaps maybe think I'm too stupid to get along in Canadian society and refuse me? Also do they mind if I just write "NA" instead of "NOT APPLICABLE"? Or would they take that as an incorrectly filled application? OR do they actually EXPACT you to write "NA"? lol... see? I guess I am a little rediculous with the over thinking.. But I still think its neccesary.
Whenever I start to work on my app or just think about it I get this fight or flight feeling.. ya know like if you just noticed there is a lion stalking you.
Anyway, Dont feel like you are overthinking it. Go ahead and ask the most nit picky questions you want... It would be unwise not to clarify absolutely everything you possible can!
Hi
N/A is fine.
They just want to know you read the question. If you leave it blank they won't know if there really is a answer and you skipped it.
Bunny
OMG Rene you had me cracking up about the contempt and all the n/a's. :) LOL
What's REALLY fun on the applications is how they contradict each other. :) It says in the instructions to write "NOT APPLICABLE" and yet if you read the individual questions SOME state to put "NONE" if it doesn't apply. HUH??? :) So I have done both.
Bunny says it's ok to put N/A which is usually what I do here in the states but i did put Not Applicable. On the family form I have no children or others coming either so I just put a Not Applicable in the top of each column to be ok with myself. ;) I didn't fill in each block as they may get a bit annoyed. :) LOL Like you said. ;) Thanks for the great post. It has me still laughing. ;)
haha yes... the "NONE" spots hit me as strange too. Why make us write "NONE" instead of "NOT APPLICABLE" in certain spots???? Bureaucracy is crazy!
