Hi

Were married in 2009 and in the process of immigration. My husband is here only on visitation. We both in our 60's

I am filing my taxes do I file single or married - of course he has no income at all.

I am just not sure how to file. The government must know I'm married I did notify them. What exactly will they be looking for.

Anybody here have the same issues.

We have no income from employment ......I only have a cpp and old age security and my husband has no income at all in the states.

Thanks
Bunny

My husband(Canadian) and I have run into the same issue, Bunny. Here's the link about this subject. http://www.roadtocanada.com/forums/showt...php?t=6404

Maybe it will shed a little light for you, hopefully.
