I'm 25 year old mother of four, my husband is not a Canadian citizen. I was born and raised in Canada. we have been together for 7 years now. he has been here with me during the entire 7 years. he is "non status". I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice on where we should start. I have no idea how this immigration stuff works.
Will he get in trouble for over staying for so long?
Can I sponsor him while receiving government assistance?

Where is your husband from? How did he come to Canada? (ie - visitor visa, student visa, work visa, etc)

No telling - possibly yes, possibly no

Not if you are on social assistance/ welfare
He's from the Caribbean. I was receiving social assistance but I recently stopped, about 2 months ago. he wants to go back to his country to visit but I'm scared he won't be able to come back.
he came as a visitor.
Has he been working while he was here?
hey may scrutinize you a little more given that you were recently receiving social assistance - are you working?
There is a good chance that if he leaves he won't be allowed back given the situation as it currently sits.
Has he been in any trouble here in Canada?
Has he ever been issued a departure/deportation order?
