I am still so confused about how to go about the PR process!

How long before mailing out PR application I should to get my medical and finger printing done? I have the addresses on where to get the medical done but I have no clue where to get my fingerprint done..can someone tell me?

If my birth certificate is not in English, do I need to have it translated by the certified translator?? I am an American citizen but wasn't born in the States.

I am doing the outland application..thanks!! :)
Unless you're not planning to submit the application for a long time, I would just get it done whenever you can. It's valid for one year from the day you do the medical, and most spousal sponsorship applications are done faster than that. Obviously you don't want to get the medical done 6-months before applying, but it doesn't make much difference if you get it done a few weeks before sending in the app, rather than at the very last second.

All the details for medical and criminal checks are here:

Yes, your birth certificate needs to be accompanies by a certified translation if it's not in English or French.
Criminal clearances are valid for six months, but should be no more than 3 months old when submitted to CIC.
