Hello All

I have been searching all the posts for months in preparation on starting our process and appreciate everyone's great posts!! They have helped cleared a lot of confusion and anxiety we have been feeling :)

So, my fiance and I are getting married in 16 days and will be starting our application process. I am starting to put together all of our "proof" of our relationship, but don't know how far back I should go.

We met and dated about 5 years ago. I came up to Canada to live with him for a few months, we broke up and then I moved home. A year and a half later we started dating again and have been together for almost 2 years and are getting married.

My question is: Do I include photos, plane tickets, movie stubs, etc from the first time that we were together or would the previous time together and 1-1/2 year gap hurt us?

Thanks ahead of time
I would include the photos, etc from your first meeting. Even though you had a period of separation, it would establish how long you've known each other.
Part of the questionnaire is specifically about your "first meeting," a significant part. You do not have to go into the whole story, let alone the subsequent intervening side story. The first meeting does not have to be part of the end game. For most I suspect it isn't. They just want to know the background of the relationship so they can put all the pieces into context. So you can provide some details over the whole time period, a bit of evidence, but then focus on the "development" of the relationship that led to the decision to get married, and proof from then to the time of submitting the application. I assume this is the post "gap" part, and that's fine. Again, a bit from the early stuff, first meeting stuff for sure, but primary focus on the relationship you now have and how it got to this stage.
I'm keeping a record of all my plane boarding pass stubs/itineraries, phone cards, yahoo IM history records, emails, ecards, phone bill - basically anything and everything showing contact/history.
thanks all for the advice!
