Is now 1 year since I applied. My file was only just sent to my local CIC for processing. I am yet to receive a test date.
My case is not complicated. I have live in Canada since landing. Only moved once. Worked full time since landing, never been in any trouble with the law and only had 5 weeks out of Canada to visit family.
It's just pathetic!
I totally understand your pain, Aussie.
But what to expect from CIC? other than "no accountability", irresponsibility etc
Today I "tried" to contact the call centre regarding a package/envelope I had received at my oooold address! You would know the rest of the story, by now!!!
I want to write that I have no faith in this system.. but wondering where is the system???
I wanted to join your vent before some Dr.Phil could write bla bla bla supporting CIC & Canada as a whole..
The more we are close to any appln process with cic, the more annoying it is!!!

I feel your pain. Although, the test request is usually about a month after getting your file transferred to your local office. I am still waiting for the ceremony.....it's coming up to 15 months in May :(
Well I too got a envelope like brochure from the CIC something abot ESL classes......lol!!!!!!!!!.I wonder why it takes sooooooooooo long to process an application.Aussie wish you the best.
I also got the brochure about English classes. I just find it inexcusable that it takes them 6 months to even open an application.
Great.... Better not hold up hubby's PR card. The online timeline for new PR's is currently 30 days, and we were assured at his landing that he'd receive his card before our planned trip to the States at the end of May...
hey, same, more than a year now....no test date yet..lol... but it's not surprise to me since i have waited for almost three years as skilled worker PR in Buffalo.
